Draka Fileca, part of the Prysmian Group, has a rich heritage in delivering dedicated wires and cables for the aerospace industry.
Founded in 1958, Fileca (as it was named then), designed and built its own equipment for special cabling production. But as the 60s drew to a close – and with the qualification of tape-wrapped polyimide/PTFE cables for the Concorde program – the company was to become a leader in the aerospace cable market.
Today, Draka Fileca continues to lead the way in the design and production of wires and cabling. Bringing innovative technologies together to meet the most stringent specifications and expectations of civil or military aviation, and space manufacturers. Complying with dimension and weight reduction needs, as well as resistance to severe mechanical, electrical, chemical, temperature and radiative constraints.
With such expertise, Draka Fileca has continued to respond to a broad range of requirements, with cable types reflecting the applications in which they’re employed. From standardized ranges like UL type, and KU (ETFE), to more specific constructions, including:
- Customised assemblies
- Data transmission cables for severe environments
- Special temperature ranges
- Mechanical and chemical resistance
