Tubing encapsulated cable
Our TEC is used by oil and gas production and service companies throughout the world to monitor temperature, pressure, and other parameters in individual wells to better control flow though the overall reservoir.
No other environment subjects wire and fiber optic cables to the mechanical abuse, temperature extremes and corrosive chemicals that the oil patch does.
Our armored, metal clad, water sealed cables have proved themselves in from the equator to the arctic and deep undersea.
25 years and counting
Draka developed the first tubing encapsulated cable in 1987 for Shell to use as part of the Gulfraks C Production Platform in the North Sea.
That cable and that tool have now operated flawlessly for over 25 years.
By creating a cable that could be installed permanently in a well, we enabled permanent downhole gauges to communicate with the surface without the need of wireline. This ushered in the world of "Intelligent completions"
Tubing encapsulated cable today
TEC is currently used globally by production and service companies to monitor temperature, pressure, and other parameters in individual wells to better control flow through the overall reservoir
We bring highly engineered solutions to your reservoir management challenges. Proven, long-term permanent installations and worldwide acceptance demonstrate the ability of these systems to provide complete isolation of electrical components from well fluids.
