Prysmian to Present Sustainable Cabling Solutions and Projects at Insulated Conductors Committee Spring 2024 Meeting

Prysmian, a leader in the energy transition and digital transformation, will showcase its wide range of underground and subsea cable products and projects aimed at revolutionizing energy transmission towards sustainability at the IEEE Power & Energy Society’s Insulated Conductors Committee (ICC) meeting, held May 12-15, 2024 at the Westin Rancho Mirage in Palm Springs, CA.

Prysmian’s participation in the ICC Spring 2024 meeting will highlight the company’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Focusing on developing energy solutions that enable the electrification of society and the application of electrical power throughout the world, Prysmian will showcase its cutting-edge cable solutions designed to meet the energy sector’s evolving needs.

During the conference, Prysmian will highlight the following cabling solutions and projects: 

  1. Cabling Project in Norway – An overview of a 4.2km long, 400kV cable line that has been installed and completed under challenging conditions via a tunnel in Norway. This presentation will give an overview of the special tests performed and the realization of the project.
     
  2. Integrated Distributed Temperature Monitoring System for Innovative Direct Buried Smart MV Cable Systems – An overview of an MV cable with an integrated solution to monitor maximum load and analyze nearby utility crossings (e.g. steam and water pipes).
     
  3. Vineyard Wind 1 Project – An overview of the first utility-scale offshore wind farm in the U.S that was successfully completed through the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of an HVAC (High Voltage Alternating Current) cable system by Prysmian, delivering clean energy to more than 400,000 homes and businesses in Massachusetts.
