Prysmian Group Joins U.S. EPA SmartWay® Transport Partnership
Prysmian Group North America announced that it joined the SmartWay® Transport Partnership, an innovative collaboration with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) designed to help companies manage logistics in an environmentally responsible way.
The SmartWay® Transport Partnership currently has over 3,000 members, including shippers, logistics companies, truck, rail, barge and multimodal carriers who rely upon SmartWay tools and practices to track and reduce transport emissions and fuel use while moving goods. Prysmian Group North America will contribute to the SmartWay® Transport Partnership’s goals of saving 215.4 million barrels of oil, $29.7 billion in fuel costs and 103 million tons of air pollution (NOx, PM, and CO2). This is the equivalent of eliminating annual energy use in over 6 million homes.

Last year, Prysmian Group North America announced a similar partnership with Transplace, a third-party logistics provider, to optimize transportation management and improve supply chain visibility. Prysmian Group North America’s latest decision to join the SmartWay® Transport Partnership once again confirms the company’s commitment to sustainable practices and corporate social responsibility.
