Prysmian Group Introduces World’s Smallest Category 6A, Fully Compliant Cable

Highland Heights, Ky., August 24, 2020 – For over 16 years, Prysmian Group and Panduit have partnered to provide the structured cabling market with innovative products and solutions leading together the industry in Category 6A innovation. The companies are proud to announce the joint development of the world’s smallest, full channel compliant Category 6A cable. Prysmian Group’s, GenSPEED 10 MTP is now available in a 0.230-inch overall diameter, allowing up to 142 cables in a 4-inch conduit.  This improves upon GenSPEED’s prior record-setting 0.250-inch diameter cable achieved in 2018.

In addition to the ability to add more cables into existing conduit and trays, GenSPEED 10 MTP is easier to install without concern for terminating during installation because it does not have a cross-web or separator. Available in plenum rating only, it is UL Listed LP 0.7A with a certified performance for high power PoE applications up to 140W. The fully compliant cable meets or exceeds Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) standards by utilizing Mosaic Variable Laser Cut Tape to provide industry-leading alien crosstalk headroom protection of +8dB and a random laser cut pattern to deliver electromagnetic interference (EMI) immunity.

The new GenSPEED 10 MTP cables are also lighter and feature increased flexibility which translates to simplified cable handling and optimized cable management. This reduces cable management costs and installation time and expenses.
