OVERVIEW

Copper Building Wire

Our General Cable Copper Building wire line consists of Types XHHW-2, THHN/THWN-2, and TFFN along with Canadian constructions such as RW90, RWU90, and T90 that come in a variety of colors and feature the High Speed, extra low-friction jacket designed to improve installation even under the most difficult conditions. Our high-quality copper building wire is manufactured in the U.S. and delivers long-term, reliable performance in many types of building applications.

Our RW90 High Speed (HS) cable is suited for 600 volts above-ground wiring, while our RWU90 cable provides a reliable solution for service entrance below ground applications.

T90 High Speed (HS) cable is a full color, single-conductor copper cable featuring a tough and resistant polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation for use as exposed or concealed wiring in dry or damp locations. These cables are rated at 90°C for dry or damp locations and 75°C for wet locations, are suitable for installation at -10°C, and meet cold bend and cold impact tests at -25°C

TFFN low-voltage wiring is a full color, single-conductor copper cable that is used as fixture wire, machine tool wiring or appliance wiring. Featuring annealed (soft) copper wire insulated with color-coded, tough polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation, these cables are rated gasoline- and oil-resistant II and are also resistant to abrasion, acids, alkaline, ozone and water.

Our TFFN cable is appropriate for use in dry locations not to exceed 90°C for fixture wire applications. For MTW applications, the cable can be used in dry locations at 90°C, and in wet locations not to exceed 60°C or exposed to oil or coolants.

THHN/THWN-2 High Speed (HS) cable is a versatile solution for most general wiring applications, from service entrance and feeders to branch circuits. THHN/THW-2 HS features a specially designed insulation that reduces pull force up to 50% compared to traditional THHN/THWN-2 wires that rely on pulling lubricants. This high-performance copper cable allows for quick and easy installation and reduces labor, waste and material costs in conduit and wire installations.

Available in full color, cross-linked polyethylene insulation, our THHN/THWN-2 HS cable is RoHS* compliant and environmentally sustainable while providing excellent long-term performance. These cables meet the requirements of the NEC® and UL® listed standards.

General Cable XHHW-2 High Speed (HS) cable is intended for general purpose wiring in residential, commercial and industrial construction and is ideally suited for building wire power distribution. Typically used in conventional conduit and wire installations, XHHW-2 HS cable is approved for use in raceways as service, feeder or branch circuits and direct buried per the recommendations of the NEC®.

Available with a Low-Smoke, Zero Halogen insulation, GenFree® II XHHW-2 is designed for use in auditoriums, arenas and health facilities where more stringent specifications for smoke- and halogen-free materials are required, and maximum performance is critical.

SAFETY SOLUTIONS

Low fire hazard and fire-resistant solutions

17 FREE® and GenFREE® LSZH Cables

Our line of 17 FREE® cable constructions feature substantiated green properties and are offered at competitive prices. With the removal of halogens, this revolutionary 17 FREE line does not contain any chlorine, fluorine, bromine or iodine, truly resulting in a less toxic, more environmentally friendly "green" product.

Our line of GenFREE® II Low-Smoke, Zero-Halogen low-voltage power cables with 17 FREE technology offer superior flame resistance, low-smoke emission and no halogens. Available in Type XHHW-2 single conductor designs, these cables are ideal for use in closed environments or populated spaces where more stringent customer specifications for smoke- and halogen-free material are required.
