At Prysmian Group, we take great Pryde in helping communities everywhere stay connected to energy and information. We do this with the ultimate goal of building a better future – for everyone. This starts by celebrating diversity in all forms and encouraging people to be who they are and express themselves freely.

This June, we celebrate Pride Month, and Prysmian Group North America is honored to participate as a Sponsor for the 2023 Cincinnati Pride parade and festival. As champions of diversity and inclusion, we believe everyone’s unique experience is important in our journey toward an equitable and just future.

LGBTQ+ Pride Month in the United States commemorates the Stonewall movement at the end of June 1969. As a result, many pride events are held this month to recognize the impact LGBTQ+ people have had in the world.

On June 28, 1970, on the first anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, the first Pride marches were held in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Thousands of LGBTQ+ people gathered to commemorate Stonewall and demonstrate for equal rights. The events of Stonewall and the liberation movements that followed were a direct result of prior decades of LGBTQ+ activism and organizing.

This year, Cincinnati celebrates 50 years, having held its first public pride event in Greater Cincinnati in April 1973.

“Our participation in Cincinnati Pride not only supports the home and the community of our North American headquarters, it also reinforces our commitment to a more inclusive society. At Prysmian Group, we work to build an environment where people feel respected, understood and accepted, and we know that a huge part of our success is our culture of inclusion. Our diversity strengthens and defines us.” – Andrea Pirondini, CEO of Prysmian Group North America

We are proud to use our voice and position as a global leader in the wire and cable industry to drive equity and change. As we seek to connect the world, we understand that we also must reflect the world and advocate for the community by supporting employees, organizations and inclusive movements around the globe.

As we celebrate Pride, let us continue to use our voice to confront bias, spark conversations and ignite change.
