Pysmian Group Announces Anna Townsend Wright as Vice President of Marketing and External Communications

Prysmian Group, world leader in the energy and telecom systems industry, has named former Local 12 News Anchor Anna Townsend Wright as Vice President of Marketing and External Communications for North America. Wright co-anchored WKRC-TV’s “Good Morning Cincinnati” from 2005-09.
Prysmian Group, a global company headquartered in Milan, is strongly positioned in high tech markets and offers a wide range of products, services, technology and know-how. In her new role, Wright will work with North American executives and lead her team to develop, execute and refine Prysmian’s marketing and branding strategies, as well as external communications, public relations and employer branding.

Prysmian Group acquired General Cable in 2018 and expanded its North American footprint. Prysmian continues to add to its workforce, actively recruiting top talent in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky region and across North America.

Wright joins Prysmian from Northern Kentucky University where she served as senior director of strategic communications since 2019. In that role, she outlined a strategy and provided communications counsel for the university. She was hired in 2017 as NKU’s director of public relations where she promoted the university in local and state media.
Prior to her tenure at NKU, Wright served as the Media Relations Manager for Dinsmore & Shohl, LLP, Cincinnati’s largest law firm. She also served as an event and project manager at Ethicon. Wright spent the first 10 years of her career in television news working as a news anchor and reporter, most recently at WRKC-TV. She also worked for news stations in Missouri and Nebraska. She received her Journalism Degree from the University of Missouri.
Wright is active in the region, volunteering in her local community and participating in the Northern Kentucky Chamber’s Leadership Northern Kentucky Class of 2022. Wright lives in Bellevue, Ky. with her husband, Kevin, and two children.
